Registration fees include coffee breaks, lunch for both days, Friday’s reception, and Saturday’s Regional Conversations dessert event (new!). This year’s fees are $10 for students, $40 for contingent faculty and independent scholars, and $100 for ranked faculty.
If you need hotel accommodations, we have made arrangements with Hilton Garden Inn – Arvada for a group rate ($119.00/night + tax; includes breakfast) and will be organizing shuttles from the hotel to campus and back. HGI-Arvada is one block from the RTD Olde Town Arvada train station, which is approximately 90 minutes to/from Denver International Airport with a transfer at Union Station from the A-line to the G-line. It is in the midst of Olde Town Arvada dining and shopping, and a short train ride into downtown Denver.

The Friday plenary will be given by Kareem El Damanhoury (DU) on the topic of extremism and the media, followed by an interview with Dheepa Sundaram (DU), who will bring Kareem’s work on Isis and Al-Qaeda into conversation with other forms of religious extremism (e.g., Hindu Nationalism, White Nationalism).
The Saturday plenary will be given by Amy C. Cottrill (Birmingham-Southern College), who will share something related to her recent book Uncovering Violence: Reading Biblical Narratives as an Ethical Project.
